The District sells the rights for full-body burials and cremation interments in the open and active cemeteries as local conditions allow, and offers a range of interment services and products.
Residents of Nevada County are eligible for interment in the District cemeteries. Non-residents with family interred in a District cemetery, or who acquired interment rights while a resident, or who have paid or are paying property taxes in Nevada County are also eligible under certain conditions.
The mission of the District is to provide distinctive places of interment for residents of Nevada County; to expand and preserve the cemeteries in western Nevada County; to maintain the historic significance and character of the cemeteries; and to ensure that a physical connection to the past is available for all citizens to experience, enjoy and reflect upon.
